Take Action: Defend Transit & Climate Progress as Transportation Negotiations Continue

Last night, the Minnesota Legislature ended the regular 2025 legislative session with big transit and climate decisions still unresolved. Right now, their negotiations on a final transportation bill are ongoing in the lead-up to a likely special session. And already we know that transportation conference members agreed to $213 million in cuts to transportation funding over the next four years. Before state leaders make a deal, we need your help to send a clear signal that protecting transit investments and climate progress are critical.

Take action now to keep the pressure on as important transportation negotiations continue at the State Capitol this week!

Minnesotans deserve a transportation system that protects our health, our environment, and our future. But some lawmakers are still seeking harmful cuts to Metro Transit, Metro Mobility, and Greater Minnesota transit service—and pushing to delay the transformative Driving Down Emissions law we passed to expand sustainable transportation choices and reduce highway pollution.

Deal-making in the lead-up to a special session will determine whether the next state transportation bill continues to build a more sustainable and prosperous future for Minnesotans—or renews the dangerous trend of underfunding public transit and compromising our health and climate for generations to come.

Make sure legislators know where you stand before they make a deal! Speak up for a final bill that protects investments in public transit, implements our Driving Down Emissions law on schedule, and removes outdated restrictions so more existing resources can be used to expand the biking, walking, rolling, and public transit options that strengthen our communities and reduce pollution.

Take action to push for a special session bill that continues Minnesota’s leadership on transit and climate and increases walking, rolling, bicycling, and public transit choices in our communities!
