Help protect transit funding and make your voice heard!

Senate cuts put proposal for high quality transit at risk!

Earlier this month the House and Senate Transportation Committees put significant funding in their transportation omnibus bills for transit, biking, and walking. Thanks to the tireless work of our organizing team and advocates like you, we made that happen!

The House just voted on on a .75 percent sales tax that would close transit operating gaps and nearly double Metro Transit’s budget. We can’t say enough what a big change this would be: for less than a penny on the dollar,  we would have the resources we need to expand our transit system and make it fast, frequent, and reliable!

But last week, the Senate Tax Committee voted to cut that funding by a third. This would devastate the future potential of our transit system, and we need you to speak up. Your senator is a critical voice and vote to preserve the .75 percent sales tax and stay strong in support of transit, biking, and walking.

This is transformative funding on the line — it would help us electrify the system quickly, expand quality service to more routes, support transit ambassadors on our buses and trains, and explore free or reduced fares. It’s what we’ve been fighting for.

Your message to your senator will make a big difference!
