Over the past two years, the legislature has passed long-overdue and urgently needed funding to improve transit service. Minnesotans are counting on these resources to help our families save money and give us more choices in how we get to the important places in our lives. But some state legislators now want to limit or reduce investments in public transit and even redirect dedicated transit funding to roads and highways.

Climate breakdown threatens the people and places we love, and our success in Minnesota is a strong reminder that the way we plan and build our communities can be sustainable. Thanks to Move Minnesota Action and our partners, Minnesota legislators passed and expanded our nation-leading Driving Down Emissions law to build roads and connect communities in ways that protect our climate and communities. With our wins, we are set to build in a way that curbs climate pollution and provides more options to take transit, walk, bike, and roll.  But some lawmakers now want to delay and dilute our policy wins, putting us even further behind in meeting the state’s climate goals.
